In colonial times the were some good and bad jobs. The job I would have picked was a surveyor. A surveyor measured and mapped the land . A surveyor’s job was important because he stated who owned the land . He marked trees and rocks to show the tract’s edges . He also wrote a report about the land . a surveyor needed skills in math ,science,writing, and art . He needed to be healthy and strong. The surveyor could only measure with the governors permission. Thomas Jefferson’s father , Peter was a surveyor . he mapped much of the present state of Virginia.
